I am currently using historical marine mammal sighting logs from Monterey Bay Whale Watch in order to assess how things have changed in Monterey Bay in the last 35 years. My main interest is seeing if the dates of arrival to the bay or departure from the bay for different species have changed significantly in that time period. With my coworkers, I hope that with this data we can better understand how things are changing in the bay and to provide the whale watching boats with new educational tools.
