Blake Marin | Field Technician

Blake joined the lab in 2022 as a field technician conducting opportunistic biopsy collection and sUAS photogrammetry with baleen whales in the Antarctic. He was introduced to the lab team after working with Dr. Caroline Casey on Northern Elephant Seal behavior and bioacoustic research at Ano Nuevo State Reserve. Since completing his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he has worked in coastal conservation, fisheries ecology, and marine mammal ecology. Current research interests include behavioral ecology, population dynamics, and migration.
